Sky Canyon Veterinary Hospital is a AAHA accredited general practice and referral veterinary hospital for companion animals.

We are looking for a highly qualified Veterinary Technician or Veterinary Assistant who will assist in delivering excellent care and customer service to all patients and clients as they work cohesively within our team. The ideal candidate would possess high level skills in surgery, anesthesia, dentistry, pain management, triage and client education. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing medical care to animals, assisting with surgical procedures, performing laboratory tests, administering medications, triaging calls and providing general support to the veterinary team.

The candidate needs to be warm, friendly, easy going, flexible, and able to work well with their team members and clients.

Duties include but are not limited to:

• Assist veterinarians in providing medical care to animals.
• Perform laboratory tests and diagnostic procedures.
• Administer medications and vaccinations as prescribed by the veterinarian.
• Monitor vital signs of animals during surgery and other medical procedures.
• General nursing care
• Must be able to lift 50 lbs
• Maintain medical records and prepare reports for veterinarians.
• Check-in patients and obtain vitals and thorough history, start medical note and communicate history and chief complaint to attending DVM
• Provide nursing care to sick or injured animals.
• Educate pet owners on proper animal care.
• Accurately document conversations with clients.
• Work with clients and patients in a professional, friendly and hospitable manner.
• Work well with all team members and ensure that actions support the hospital, doctors and practice philosophy.

The ideal candidate must pursue continuing education/ongoing training and previous experience in the industry is required.

Pay: $15.00 - $22.00 per hour

Expected hours: 30 per week
